Aldehyde C-20 has several asymmetric carbons. However, it is a mixture of its isomers that is used in perfumery. Aldehyde C-16, also called Strawberry Aldehyde, is a positional isomer of Aldehyde C-20. Both have a fruity smell, but Aldehyde C-16 smells more like strawberry.
Synthesis precursor :
Aldehyde C-20 is not a precursor to the synthesis of another compound of olfactory interest.
Synthesis route :
Data not available.
