Synthesis route :
Aurantiol is a Schiff base between Hydroxycitronellal and Methyl Anthranilate. Its synthesis is made by reaction between these two compounds. The result is an orange to red coloured product.
Synthesis precursor :
Aurantiol is not a precursor to the synthesis of another compound of olfactory interest.
Isomerism :
Aurantiol has an asymmetric carbon. The raw material used in perfumery is a racemic mixture of the two enantiomers.
