Synthesis route :
Mousse de Saxe® is a relatively old base of perfumery, originally composed of alpha-isomethyl ionone (see Isoraldeine 70® et Isoraldeine 95®), Oak Moss Absolute, IsoButyl Quinoline, Bourbon Geranium EO, Vanillin and Anisic Aldehyde among others. Several of these ingredients are synthetic compounds. Nowadays, this base has obviously been reworked, as it contained Oak Moss Absolute, whose usage is limited.
